With a Maternity, Newborn, or Family session, these worries are a thing of the past. I want each session to be a chance for you to really forget about the worries of day-to-day life and really be present in your own life. To forget about the criticism and the pressure we place on ourselves and hold ourselves up in the beauty that GOD gave us. I want you to really sink into the fleeting moments because tomorrow everyone will be just a bit little older.

From helping you pick out wardrobe that leaves you feeling like a GODDESS. That wardrobe can be from one of my 100+ dresses in the client closet, to keeping it real and casual in jeans and a top (or add in a comfy sweater or cardigan from the NPP client closet too). You'll feel relaxed, natural, and empowered when you are guided with natural prompts to make sure you are left feeling weird and out of place.
I am so incredibly passionate about making sure that when you look back 4 months, 8 months, or even years later, you will never have that moment of regret. That as your little one gets older, there will be moments of snuggles on the couch while you tell them how they came earth side.
ABOUT MATERNITY SESSIONS
With my oldest it was the fear that something would go wrong,, that this blessing (after months of trying) would be ripped from my body. With my youngest, it was life. We had just moved, my oldest was almost 3 and he was (and still is) wild, I was working full-time, and trying to figure out life in a new city away from friends and family.
I was in my head, I wasn’t embracing the beautiful things my body was doing as it grew both my beautiful kiddos. I was sick with both kids and my energy most days was a zero. I was just surviving in the chaos and hot chocolates.
In a society where we are so slammed with being perfect, and everything on social shows the best, it's time to really step back from all the fake and just take what is real. To truly embrace your own personal journey and beauty, to tune out the negative voices.
These moments will be ones that you will reach for during future moments in life. It's going to give you a bit of peace, time to truly embrace the changes. To accept the good, the

NEWBORN
Lets Chat about those tiny details
I have many wraps, little onesies, and other things for the baby to make sure that the baby is the main focus. I do not use a lot of props as I want simple, classic, and powerful images that make your baby the focus.
Studio sessions are done in my downtown Bismarck lifestyle studio. With a boho studio apartment feel, the minimalistic feel leaves your little one the main focus. The studio is also stocked with things you might forget being a sleep-deprived momma.
Each newborn session is designed to be completely stress-free. With an ebb-and-flow approach with older siblings, allowing them to join the family pictures as they feel. Following the baby’s cues during our time together allows for a tranquil and relaxed session.
So don't stress, during our planning stage, we talk through all of this and can also create customized memberships which allow you at capture each little milestone that tugs at your momma heartstrings.
ABOUT NEWBORN SESSIONS
I really don't need that much space and even if it's not "magazine show-worthy". Its more about capturing where you brought your little one home to, the place where your family grew from two to maybe three or four or even more. Its a great space for older siblings to be included allowing them to be in their own space with you to really show off their true personalities in the session and then run off and do their own thing.
Oh and lets not forget about our fur-babies either. In-home sessions allow all your babies to be present without the stress of bundling them up and taking them to my studio.

There's truly nothing more fleeting and precious than your newborn baby's first days, months even that first year of life.. When each of those long nights pacing the hallways seem to never end, you will look back on this newborn stage and wonder where time really went.
One thing that I hear when momma's come in for the newborn session is the comment that "I can't believe how much they have grown already since we brought them home".
Newborn sessions can come in a couple of different ways with a live birth photoshoot in your home or hospital. Or a fresh-48 session which I tend to keep short and sweet as I focus mainly on those little details of the first hours your baby is here.
Newborn sessions can also be done in your home featuring your baby's first home with the nursery, master bedroom or living being the area I tend to shoot in. Now before you say "but my home isn't set up for a photoshoot". Don't worry......

That’s what connection and storytelling is all about. That you take each and every imperfection and embrace it, because let’s be real… When you look back 5 years, or maybe even 30 years from now, all you remember is the connection.
ABOUT FAMILY SESSIONS
Personally, I learned the hard way how important those extended family portraits are too. To make sure that we get Grandparent's, Aunts, Uncles, whoever is important in those images. It's not about "let's do it tomorrow". It's about making the time.
When you schedule your intro chat with me, we will talk about all those who mean the world to you. We will discuss locations, with the option to have an cozy studio session with you dancing around or snuggled up together. Or I can travel to your home and document a day in the life of you. During the warmer months (June-September weather permitting), we can travel around the countryside at sunset to give a golden glow to your images.
Not only do I also help you with wardrobe, but I will get to know you and your family so the session reflect the true you moments. Those moments will have you so excited to work with me creating prints and wall art to proudly display around your home.
Oh yeah, and let's not forget about the fur-babies. Bring them with to the studio or outdoors, and let's hit that PAUSE button.

When you children ask you to tell them a story, tell them the one about them. How each year you took the time to hit pause on the hustle and bustle. To help make a core memory where there is a ton of laughter, making faces, tickling, and just pure happiness.
This happiness can be achieved with an outdoor session in the Bismarck-Mandan area, out west in Medora, or anywhere in the US. It can be with the family splashing in a river, dancing in the rain, or something else that tell your story.
Or if it's in the colder, rainy or windy days that North Dakota throws at us, let's snuggle up in the studio with a painting session, or lets capturing you reading to your little ones on the couch. Or a family dog pile of tickles and giggles on the bed.
Family sessions can even being a "day in the life of" with me coming to your home and capturing you baking cookies together, relaxing on the couch watching TV and soaking each and every moment in. Or do you want to go throw the football around, or go hiking.. Let's capture this.

Memberships are a great way to make sure that you hold yourself accountable to making a photo session happen a few times a year.
Memberships come in a mixture of petite and full sessions, are totally customizable to your needs. It really is a great way to capture a Maternity and Newborn session. Or to do Maternity, Fresh 48, Newborn and a Milestone Party (1 year cake smash).
VIP perks include NO TRAVEL fee's outside of the Bismarck-Mandan area, which makes it all so fun to head out to Medora in the fall to capture that ON FIRE sunset. To working with some amazing and talented Hair and Makeup artists to give momma's a moment to just get pampered and not worry about anyone or anything. Also VIPs enjoy getting a little email from me a couple months before I open my schedules to pick out the most prime dates that go like hot cakes.
Memberships are also a great way to be a little more budget friendly spreading your payment over the months we work. together.
ABOUT MEMBERSHIPS
I know one thing that I hear feedback on is that time flys. I mean it. I remember bringing both my babies home, and here I am with a 10 and 7 year old. Not really sure when that happened.
But one thing that I know makes it easier for me is to go in and book an appointment, put it in my calendar and then basically forget about it until the reminders come along. And hey, guess what, I will send those reminders and check in with you to make sure that you are ready to schedule that next session. That you don't have to worry about the wardrobe either (cause guess what, I have a client closet, and I also offer a online stylist).
I work with you each session to not only find that perfect outfit, but we find locations, we create inspiration boards to make sure that I truly see your vision. And it's just not only on that first session, it's for EVERY session.
With a new baby, you have the option to use your petite session in a membership to have me come visit you in the hospital and capture that rawness you are feeling, the tiny little details of your new baby and making sure that it's never forgotten or lost in the hormones and the busy moments in the hospital.

MY PROCESS
It's time to show off your images
After your session, I don't just say peace out. We will still get together after the session (about 20ish days) and do your proofing gallery reveal. These can be done her at my studio or via zoom. This is when you see your images (well, except for the teasers on social that I share), for the first time. We will walk through how to decide on what works best for you for digitals and/or products. I am here to help you complete your journey with making sure that you have outlets to make sure that your memories are preserved in time.

We will then set up a time to do our intro chat, this can be done in person at the studio or via zoom.
If you decide we are a good fit, I will send over the contract and invoice. Once those are sent back, we start PLANNING!

Then, we plan every little detail
During the planning stage, we will discuss wardrobe, narrow down locations, and make sure that everything is ready for the day of our session. When you show up for your session, you can pick up any wardrobe piece for the client closet or I will bring them to the location. We will let you and your family show off the TRUE YOU moments!
BOOK YOUR CHAT!
You will get the PRINT RELEASE for your digital images, giving your permission to print for personal use only. You will need to purchase a commercial copyright if you plan to enter into any contest, use for modeling portfolios and/or sell the image for publications or reprint purposes. I will retain ownership (copyright) of the image.
Will I get the print release to my images?
As an artist, I retain complete ownership of the images that I take. However, I do respect people’s wishes to not have their children on social media or displayed via samples, in my portfolio, or marketing documents. For any request to NOT show your child(ren)s images, I do ask that you submit a written request to be included in your portal.
Will my images be displayed on social media, or on your website?
Hair and Makeup services are included in the VIP membership ONLY. I do partner with amazing artists that we can work with and you are free to schedule with if you would like to have these services done for your session. However, if you are not in a VIP or have it written into a customized package, you will be responsible for payment to the artist.
Is Hair & Makeup Included in my Session?
Each session is designed to have the best light in studio or outdoors, so having the right timing is essential. However, keeping in mind little ones’ naps and eating times is just as important. Therefore if little ones are involved in the sessions, please make sure to NOT schedule your session during snack, nap or supper time. I offer morning sunrise sessions as well which are just as gorgeous as sunsets and allow for a better kiddo friendly option.
Maternity sessions are best done between 30 and 34 weeks, which allows your bump to pop a little more, but also doesn’t put you in that beyond uncomfortable stage.
Newborn sessions are best done in the mid-morning. I typically start our sessions between 10-11 am. These are best done within the first 7-21 days of the baby’s life. However, because of am a lifestyle photographer, I have done newborn sessions up to 3 months. Once we hit 3 months it really is a different type of session.
When is the best time to schedule my appointment?
I ONLY offer outdoor sessions during Mid-May through Mid-October timeframe. If the temperatures are below freezing during this time, we will NOT shoot outside, but in the studio instead.
With littles and family sessions, I recommend booking sooner rather than later. Fall sessions tend to book up quickly along with any weekends that I may have open. I cannot guarantee the weather and certain color patterns, and since they are a hot commodity, I understand that you may want to wait until the leaves are just right. I do offer the ability to reschedule a session, however, it will depend on IF I have the availability.
While sunset may be the look you are wanting, sunrise can also offer a golden glow as well.
